Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is seeking a Pool Operator for Silver Spring, MD. You will manage daily pool operations, ensure health and safety standards, and maintain accurate shift documentation and logs.

Responsibilities include maintaining compliance with regulations, supervising equipment and chemical deliveries when on shift, and upholding excellent public relations with members and staff.

Qualifications

• Must be 17 years of age.
• Must have at least 500 hours of experience.
• CPR and First Aid completion cards.
• Valid pool operator’s license for facility’s jurisdiction.
• Must certify through YMCA as Lifeguard within six months if card is not YMCA.

Responsibilities

• Maintain shift documentation: sanitizer, pH, temperatures, flow, and logs.
• Keep facility inspection-ready per regulations.
• Supervise delivery of equipment/chemicals if on shift.
• Ensure safety and excellent relations with members and staff.
• Secure department per guidelines when the branch closes.
