Job summary

SPS PoolCare in the United States (Arizona) is seeking a Pool Maintenance Specialist Trainee to assist with cleaning, chemical balancing, and routine pool care at client sites and company facilities.

You will learn from a Pool Service Specialist, perform skimming, vacuuming, tests for pH and chlorine, and help maintain logs of chemical usage and water quality. This role requires physical stamina and strong customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of related experience required.
• Physical requirements: lift up to 80 pounds, good vision and hearing, capable of all pool cleaning tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assists Pool Maintenance Specialist to clean and maintain filled pools and facilities by skimming, vacuuming, and performing chemical treatments.
• Periodically empties pools to perform deep cleaning, including brushing and scrubbing walls, floors, and surfaces.
• Assists Pool Service Specialist to regularly test pool water for pH, chlorine, bacteria, algae, or contaminants; and other data.
• Receives training from the Pool Service Specialist to ensure correct color, chemistry, and clarity of pool water.
• Calculates and adds chemical treatments to maintain pH balance, eliminate contaminants, or correct other problems.
• Inspects pool and equipment.
• Assists Pool Service Specialist to complete and maintain daily logs outlining chemical usage, water quality, repairs, and supplies.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Periodically empties pools to perform deep cleaning, including brushing and scrubbing walls, floors, and surfaces.
• Assists Pool Service Specialist to regularly test pool water for pH; chlorine; presence of bacteria, algae, or contaminants; and other data.
• Receives training from the Pool Service Specialist to ensure correct color, chemistry, and clarity of pool water.
• Calculates and adds chemical treatments to maintain pH balance, eliminate contaminants, or correct other problems.
• Inspects pool and equipment.
• Assists Pool Service Specialist to complete and maintain daily logs outlining chemical usage, water quality, repairs, and supplies.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Understanding of pool cleaning chemicals and equipment related to swimming pools.
• Mechanical and manual labor skills related to aquatic facilities and equipment.
• Math skills to calculate chemical additives and ratios.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of related experience required.
• Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds at a time.
• Must have adequate sight and hearing to properly interpret water analysis, equipment readings, and complete recordkeeping.
• Physically able to perform all aspects of cleaning, checking, and monitoring pools and facilities.
