Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Pool Maintenance Specialist Trainee to assist with the cleaning, skimming, vacuuming and chemical treatments at client sites and facilities.

You will learn from a Pool Service Specialist, test water, balance chemicals, record data, and perform routine inspections while following safety procedures and maintenance protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of related experience required.
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
• Ability to interpret water analysis, equipment readings and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Assist Pool Maintenance Specialist to clean and maintain pools and facilities by skimming, vacuuming and applying chemical treatments.
• Periodically empty pools for deep cleaning, brushing and scrubbing walls, floors and surfaces.
• Test pool water for pH, chlorine and contaminants; record results.
• Receive training from Pool Service Specialist to ensure correct water chemistry and clarity.
• Calculate and add chemical treatments to balance water chemistry.

Description

The Pool Maintenance Specialist Trainee will maintain pools at client's and associated facilities for the company.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assists Pool Maintenance Specialist to clean and maintain filled pools and facilities by skimming, vacuuming, and performing chemical treatments.
• Periodically empties pools to perform deep cleaning, including brushing and scrubbing walls, floors, and surfaces.
• Assists Pool Service Specialist to regularly test pool water for pH; chlorine; presence of bacteria, algae, or contaminants; and other data.
• Receives training from the Pool Service Specialist to ensure correct color, chemistry, and clarity of pool water.
• Calculates and adds chemical treatments to maintain pH balance, eliminate contaminants, or correct other problems.
• Inspects pool and equipment.
• Assists Pool Service Specialist to complete and maintain daily logs outlining chemical usage, water quality, repairs, and supplies.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Understanding of pool cleaning chemicals and equipment related to swimming pools.
• Mechanical and manual labor skills related to aquatic facilities and equipment.
• Math skills to calculate chemical additives and ratios.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of related experience required.
• Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds at a time.
• Must have adequate sight and hearing to properly interpret water analysis, equipment readings, and complete recordkeeping.
• Physically able to perform all aspects of cleaning, checking, and monitoring pools and facilities.
