Qualifications

Minimum of one (1) year of experience in aquatic recreational activities; a minimum of one year of supervisory experience is preferred. Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Ability to use and perform maintenance of pool equipment. Understanding of and the ability to enforce safety regulations to ensure maximum protection of swimmers. Must have knowledge of pool water chemistry and the ability to use equipment to take pool readings.

Current nationally recognized certifications: Lifeguard training, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent, Standard First Aid or equivalent. Must be able to obtain within 6 months of hire a nationally recognized Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguard Instructor certification or equivalent. Must be able to pass initial and recurrent physical ability tests.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries and State Criminal History Repository Check (CNACI), which are required for positions involving working with children under 18 years of age.
