Job summary

The City of Longmont seeks a Pool and Ice Maintenance Technician to perform skilled maintenance, repair and replacement of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and water systems across indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities.

Responsibilities include daily water chemistry checks, preventative maintenance, safety inspections, seasonal shutdowns, ice rink operations, and supervising staff; familiarity with pumps, filters, and chlorine systems is required, along with a Colorado driver's license.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in maintenance, repair and operation of pumps, motors, plumbing and electrical systems.
• Colorado Driver’s license required.
• Basic proficiency in Word and Excel.
• Ability to work on-call and flexible hours during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily water chemistry and equipment checks at aquatic and ice facilities.
• Inspect facilities and maintain operation of pumps, motors, filters, and control systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment and ice-resurfacing equipment.
• Oversee safety inspections and ensure compliance with standards.
• Prepare outdoor pools and buildings for seasonal operation and perform winter shutdowns.
• Train staff and supervise contractors on maintenance tasks.
