JOB SUMMARY: Deliver beverages and food (may prepare some drinks) for Hotel Valencia pool guests while providing them with professional and efficient service.
PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS:
Opening Duties:
- Sign out master card key from front desk to access pool.
- Report to manager for any event updates, special promotions, wine of the day.
- Check in with the kitchen for any changes/specials/86 items.
- Make sure Micros Handheld and wireless printer are connected and had signal.
- Set up your bus and tubs and service station (fruit, napkins…).
- Make sure that the pool phone is working properly.
- Place pool side menus on all tables and bar (for food orders, call PBX and place order).
- Prior to picking up order, call room service to check order.
- If all cushions are not in place, contact housekeeping ASAP.
- Wipe all tables.
- Stock 20 sets of silverware each day (dinner cloth napkins and B&B plates) and arrange all furniture accordingly.
- Make sure pool deck is clean and presentable, lounge backs are uniform, and the umbrella is in place.
During the shift:
- Prepare drink orders for guests according to specified recipes using measuring systems.
- Issue, open, and serve wine/champagne bottles.
- Maintain cleanliness and condition of bar, bar unit, tables, and other tools.
- Remove soiled wares from pool deck, bar top, and tables and place in designated area.
- Anticipate and communicate replenishment needs.
- Make sure that all lounge chairs remain organized.
- Pick up towels and wipe down lounge chairs.
- Communicate with housekeeping if guest requests more towels or if more towels need to be made available.
- Process all payment methods. Count bank at end of shift, complete designated cashier reports, resolve any discrepancies, drop off receipts, and secure bank.
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests' service needs, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.
- Speak with others using clear and professional language.
- Monitor hotel guests trying to bring in outside alcohol (no outside beverages are allowed).
Closing Duties:
- 30 minutes before closing, inform guests of last call.
- Wipe down all tables and bar.
- Clean bar station and wipe with a dry rag.
- Clean up any debris from service station.
- Bring all beverages down and manager will read bar.
- Put all liquor back in 3rd floor liquor room & make sure to re-cork all wine bottles.
- Do all paperwork closing duties.
- Return $100.00 bank to manager.
- Return Micros machine to manager.
- Return keys to front desk and have them sign.
- Check with your manager prior to leaving.
- And any other tasks assigned by the manager.
