Job summary

The Langham Huntington, Pasadena is seeking a Pool Attendant to maintain pool areas, ensure safety, and deliver friendly guest service in a luxury setting.

You will assist with pool maintenance, guest needs, and coordination with the Pool Supervisor to uphold high standards of cleanliness and safety at all times.

Qualifications

• CPR/First Aid training preferred.
• Previous guest services experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Maintain proper and adequate supplies in pool area and report maintenance needs to supervisor.
• Address safety issues around pool, Jacuzzi, and restroom areas promptly.
• Perform daily cleaning tasks such as trash removal, towel laundering, and pool cleaning as required.
• Assist servers by taking guest orders if service is requested.
• Be familiar with pool hours and activities and communicate with guests and staff.
• Respond to guest complaints in a friendly and constructive manner.
• Work varying shifts to accommodate business needs.

JOB TITLE: Pool Attendant

REPORTS TO: Pool Supervisor/ Assistant Food & Beverage Manager

SUPERVISES: NA

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION

To properly maintain the outdoor and indoor pool areas and insure that pool areas are clean, safe, and enjoyable.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES

• Maintain proper and adequate supplies in the pool area and reports all necessary maintenance for equipment to direct manager.
• Be proactive in handling all safety issues in or around the pool area including the Jacuzzi, hideaway, and restroom area.
• Complete daily cleaning duties such as emptying trash, restocking and laundering towels, cleaning pool as appropriate.
• Transport towel bins to and from Laundry room.
• Take guest order for Servers if guest desires service.
• Knowledge of Pool hours and activities.
• Maintain an open line of communication between guest, management, and colleagues.
• Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner.
• Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the pool.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must enjoy working with a team in an outdoor environment with extreme temperatures.
• Physical activities include lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing a minimum of 75 pounds.
• Walk or stand for caring lengths of time, sometimes for extended periods of 6+ hours.
• Activities include standing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, handling, lifting, carrying, seeing, hearing, talking, walking.

SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED

• Some knowledge of pool systems.
• Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

EDUCATION REQUIRED

• Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Previous guest services experience helpful.
• Previous experience with pool systems helpful.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

CPR Certification and / or First Aid training preferred.
