Huntsville Hospital is seeking a polysomnographic technologist to perform hook‑up and diagnostic procedures for sleep studies. You will assist with admissions, filing, and record keeping, and will maintain ASLEEP AASM ASTEP certification as required by policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• CPR certification prior to working unsupervised.
• Willingness to complete ASTEP course successfully outlined by AASM to reach registry eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient once the patient has arrived for sleep testing.
• Plan patient care based on testing ordered by sleep staff physician.
• Document patient care.
• Collaborate with other members of the health care team.
• Educate and instruct patient and family on sleep testing procedures.
• Conscientiously and continuously apply polysomnographic technologist principles in patient care.
• Participate in performance improvement activities.
• Administers sleep studies as ordered by sleep staff physician.
• Functions as a clinical preceptor as necessary.
• Performs patient care, and operational duties as assigned.
• Maintains unit.
• Maintains equipment.
• Communicates patient information.
• Documents information.
• Charges for equipment and supplies.
• Uses computer system efficiently.
