Polysomnography Technologist – RPSGT

Shift: 36 hours – 3 12’s, 6p-6:30am. Every third weekend – Saturdays only. Locations: Main PHL campus and NJ satellites – Voorhees. Experience: 1 year required.

The Polysomnography Technologist carries out all technical duties for the Sleep Center under the supervision of the medical director or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation of sleep disorders. This may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services, research, or patient care and education.

What You Will Do:

• Provide expert care using intuition, reasoning and experience.
• Prepare and calibrate equipment, including applying electrodes and sensors according to accepted standards.
• Document routine observations and significant events to facilitate scoring and interpretation of results.
• Follow procedural protocols such as PAP titration, oxygen titration, and research protocols.
• Establish professional practice standards and lead process improvement projects.
• Incorporate research into clinical practice and participate in scientific inquiry.
• Act as a consultant to enhance professional development.
• Review successes and failures to improve performance.
• Maintain a blame‑free environment.
• Identify and meet own learning needs.
• Complete ten Continuing Education Credits (10) approved by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine per calendar year.
• Participate in continuing educational opportunities at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
• Teach others appropriate utilization of financial resources and make recommendations.

Education Qualifications:

• High School Diploma / GED – Required.
• Technical Diploma in Polysomnography, Respiratory Therapy or EEG – Preferred.
• Associate's Degree – Preferred.

Experience Qualifications:

• At least one year of experience – Required.
• At least two years of Polysomnography Technology or Respiratory Therapy experience – Preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Polysomnography License (New Jersey) – Required upon hire.
• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) – Pennsylvania – Required upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required upon hire.
