A health organization client is seeking a Polysomnography Technologist in Elmira, NY. This full-time position offers a $25,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates. • Location: Elmira, NY (Southern New York State Finger Lakes region)
• Salary Range: $61,360 – $80,030 annually (equivalent to $29.50–$38.48/hour)
• Schedule: Full-Time
• Direct hire
• Bonus: Up to $25,000 Sign-On Bonus for qualified candidates

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Setup & Education:

• Collect and assess medical, emotional, and social history relevant to testing
• Educate patients on testing procedures before, during, and after the study
• Prepare, calibrate, and apply sensors and electrodes to ensure accurate data capture
• Fit PAP masks and perform mask troubleshooting

Conducting Sleep Studies:

• Administer a range of tests (PSG, MSLT, MWT, PAP titrations, oxygen studies)
• Monitor and adjust equipment for clean, artifact-free signal acquisition
• Record clinical events, behavior, and any protocol deviations
• Deliver age-appropriate care for patients across all life stages

Data Analysis & Reporting:

• Score sleep stages and clinical events following standardized guidelines
• Generate precise, actionable reports for physician interpretation

Compliance, Equipment & Safety:

• Maintain and calibrate sleep study equipment
• Follow safety and infection control procedures (Exposure Category I)
• Support quality assurance and performance improvement activities
• Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and team members

Qualifications:

• Associate degree or higher in Polysomnography, Respiratory Therapy, or Nursing
• Must be eligible for or hold RPSGT certification (within 18 months of hire)
• Valid NYS license: Respiratory Therapist, Respiratory Technician, or Polysomnographic Technologist
