Qualifications

  • Enrollment in an accredited sleep technology program (ASTEP) or equivalent is acceptable.
  • If not currently BLS certified, BLS must be completed within the introductory period.

Responsibilities

  • Review patient history and verify medical order for the sleep study.
  • Apply electrodes and sensors according to standards; calibrate equipment for testing.
  • Assist with PAP interface fitting and desensitization; ensure data quality and artifact-free signals.
  • Document sleep stages and clinical events to facilitate scoring and interpretation of results.
  • Ensure patient safety and provide education throughout the sleep testing process.
