Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a Polysomnographic Technician at Walworth Hospital and Medical Center to conduct comprehensive sleep studies and ensure data quality.

Responsibilities include preparing equipment, applying electrodes, performing PSG and HSAT, and generating accurate reports per AASM guidelines. Certification requirements include CPSGT or BRPT or equivalent, CPR, and a polysomnography program.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a polysomnography program of no less than one-year duration from a state licensed or nationally accredited facility or equivalent proficiency in required competencies.
• ABSM/BRPT/NBRC credentials or equivalent must be held by eligible candidates or ASLEEP board equivalent (A-STEP modules acceptable for non-credentialed staff).
• Current CPR certification required; certain AHA courses may not meet Mercyhealth standards.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze patient information, review history, medications, procedures and study protocol.
• Prepare and calibrate equipment required for testing and ensure proper functioning.
• Apply electrodes and sensors according to 10/20 system and perform necessary calibrations.
• Conduct polysomnographic and other testing procedures per AASM Center protocols.
• Generate accurate reports and perform clerical duties to ensure department efficiency.
