Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management is seeking a Registered Polysomnography Technologist to provide polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services or Home Sleep Apnea Testing. The role involves patient care, education, and working under supervision of the Sleep Center Manager and Medical Directors; travel to different sleep lab locations may be required to cover patient care as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform appropriate scoring of both adult and pediatric sleep studies.
• Perform testing procedures PSG, titration studies, MSLT, MWT, PAP Nap, HSAT and other sleep procedures, and provide effective care according to UHC Sleep Center protocols.
• Identifies and corrects machine malfunctions.
• Collaborates with Sleep Center staff, and members of other disciplines to ensure a strong team and contribute to the achievement of the operational goals of the assigned area.
• Provides education and age appropriate care to patients and families through the entire age spectrum, including 0 through 18 years, adults, and geriatric populations.
• Takes responsibility for adherence to professional standards, self-development, and participation in quality improvement activities
• Competent in the proper use of PPE.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
