Job summary

Henry Ford Providence Novi is seeking a Sleep Medicine technician to perform sleep studies, prepare patients and equipment, monitor testing, and document results. The role requires a BRPT or BRPT-equivalent credential and a solid education/experience background.

The position is part-time (30 hours/week) with Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday night shifts, from 8:30pm to 6:30am. Candidates should have either a high school diploma with experience or an associate/technical degree or equivalent

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 2 years of cumulative experience, or an Associate's/Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable experience.
• BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association required prior to hire date.
• BRPT polysomnographic credentials required prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies.
• Prepare patient and equipment for testing and explain procedures.
• Monitor and document testing, intervene as needed.
• Score, interpret and report sleep study results.
• Maintain and calibrate testing equipment and report repairs.

GENERAL SUMMARY

• Perform basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies.
• Prepare patient and equipment for ordered testing. Interview patient to determine sleep disorder issues and to explain testing procedures.
• Perform and document testing. Monitor patient throughout testing and intervene as necessary to resolve patient needs or equipment issues.
• Collect, analyze and integrate patient information to identify and meet patient-specific needs; score, interpret and report result of sleep studies.
• Prepare, calibrate, repair and maintain equipment required for testing. Determine and report needed repairs/replacements.

Qualifications

** EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED **

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

** CERTIFICATION/LICENCES REQUIRED **

• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

• Cert Polysomnographic Tech credentialed from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. -
