MaineHealth's Sleep Disorders Center is seeking a Polysomnography Technologist I. You will assist in diagnostic and therapeutic sleep studies under the direct supervision of a credentialed technologist.

You will support patient preparation, equipment setup, data acquisition, and documentation while building foundational competencies in sleep technology. This is a night shift, full-time role with competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Completion of a sleep technology program preferred.
• Eligible for CPSGT or RPSGT credential within 12 months; BLS required within 30 days.

Summary

The Polysomnography Technologist I role is responsible for assisting in the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic sleep studies under the direct supervision of a credentialed technologist. This role supports patient preparation, equipment setup, data acquisition, and documentation while developing foundational competencies in sleep technology.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Graduation from a Co-ARC accredited Electroencephalographic (EEG) diagnostics program, a CAAHEP-accredited Polysomnography program, or other healthcare-related educational program preferred.
2. License/Certifications: Must meet eligibility requirements and successfully obtain an advanced sleep-related credential within 12 months of hire— Certified Polysomnographic Technician (CPSGT) or Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT). Completion of a sleep technology training such as an AASM A-STEP program, or STAR-designated education program within 6 months of date of hire required. *Note: Individuals who obtain the CPSGT must achieve the RPSGT credential within 6 months following CPSGT certification. Current BLS Certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
3. Experience: No experience required. A minimum of six months of experience in a healthcare or direct patient care setting is preferred.

The pay range for this position is $27.27to $36.88 per hour.
