Qualifications

• Six months of experience as a sleep trainee with proficiency in required competencies.
• CPSGT credential or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate and monitor recording equipment for PSG, MSLT, HSAT to ensure artifact-free tracings.
• Interviews patients about medications, caffeine/alcohol, sleep patterns; collect data.
• Titrate CPAP/BIPAP and other therapies; detect and correct equipment malfunctions.
• Interpret polysomnogram data and educate patients on HSAT procedures.
• Prepare insurance paperwork and manage lab supplies; maintain lab area.

LocationSAINT LOUIS, MO 63144Scheduled Hours40Position SummaryTechnician works under medical supervision to perform and evaluate overnight polysomnograms. This individual will function under general medical supervision of a sleep technologist and/or the medical director or designee, to safely operate sophisticated medical equipment to record sleep/wake physiology. The application of recording devices to the patient, cleaning/sterilization of equipment and monitoring of polysomnograms are essential duties of the technician. In addition, the technician must recognize sleep pathology when it occurs in the laboratory and respond with the appropriate inventions to ensure safety.Job DescriptionPrimary Duties & Responsibilities:Sets up, calibrates and monitors recording equipment necessary for PSG, MSLT, NPT and Certified Public AccountantP/BIPAP to ensure artifact free tracings.Greets and interviews patients to access current medications, recent caffeine or alcohol ingestion and current sleep patterns.
