Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus is seeking a PRN Sleep Center Polysomnographic Technician in Topeka, KS. This role requires performing sleep studies, calibrating equipment, and educating patients and families, ensuring high-quality patient care.

Qualified candidates will hold the Registered Polysomnographic Technologist credential or be a Respiratory Therapist with SDS certification. BLS certification is also required within 14 days of hire.

Qualifications

  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPGST) or RT/RRT with SDS certification within 1 year.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Perform sleep studies and calibrate equipment.
  • Educate patients, families, and other care providers.
  • Work under supervision to ensure high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

Polysomnography Technologists perform sleep studies, calibrate and maintain equipment, and educate patients, families, and other care providers. Technologists work under the supervision of the Sleep Lab Manager and Medical Director and are responsible for performing patient care activities and other tasks that contribute to high‑quality, safe, and effective patient care.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPGST), or Respiratory Therapist (RT/RRT) with SDS certification within 1 year.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
