Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking an experienced polysomnography technician to provide diagnostic testing for patients from newborn to 21 years old in a pediatric setting at our North Druid Hills location in Atlanta, GA.

The candidate will perform testing and scoring, monitor patient understanding, ensure quality of testing, and may assist with new staff orientation and quality initiatives; a high school diploma and BLS are required with 10+ years experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of polysomnography experience or RPSGT/RRT/CRT certification
  • Strong organizational capabilities and communication skills
  • BLS certification within 30 days of employment

Responsibilities

  • Independently performs diagnostic polysomnographic testing and scoring in patients from newborn to 21 years old.
  • Monitors and addresses patient and family understanding and compliance with treatment and testing.
  • Identifies and corrects issues with testing quality.
  • May assist with orientation of new staff and participate in quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives.

Job Description

Provides polysomnographic testing to patients from newborn to 21 years of age consistent with accepted standards. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience 10 years of experience in polysomnography or a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Certification Summary

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of employment

Job Responsibilities
  • Independently performs diagnostic polysomnographic testing and scoring in accordance with accepted national standards to patients from newborn to 21 years of age, integrating emotional, psychosocial, educational, and growth and development needs of the patient and family.
  • Monitors and appropriately addresses the comprehension, understanding, and compliance of the patient and family with regard to treatment and testing.
  • Identifies and corrects issues with testing technical quality.
  • May assist with orientation of new staff and participate in quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives.
