Job summary

Momentive is seeking a Summer 2027 Intern in Research for Polymers. The role offers hands-on plastics formulation, processing, testing, and data‑driven product development under a mentor.

You will design experiments, analyze data, and explore AI/ML tools to optimize formulations and drive product innovation. Responsibilities include polymer sample prep, protocol development, and characterizing processing‑aid performance on film processing equipment.

Qualifications

• The candidate is pursuing a degree in polymer-related fields or data science.
• Basic lab and data-analysis experience with Excel or similar tools.
• Ability to follow lab safety requirements and procedures.
• Interest in learning plastics processing, material characterization, and AI/ML optimization.
• Experience with statistical analysis and tools is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Polymer sample preparation and processing using plastics equipment.
• Develop testing protocols and quantify processing‑aid performance on film lines.
• Apply AI/ML and data analysis to experimental datasets and report results.
