Job summary

Penn State is seeking a Materials Research and Development Engineer to join the ARL's AMME Division in State College, PA. You will support research activities, design and fabricate advanced polymers and composites, and perform characterization and testing for defense and industrial applications.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in polymer science, materials testing, and project engineering, with DoD context; ARL is a DoD SkillBridge partner and on-site work is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or science is required.
  • Experience with polymers and composites for defense/industrial applications.
  • Strong hands-on experience with materials characterization techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Support research, design, development, and fabrication of advanced polymer/composite structures.
  • Perform fabrication, characterization, testing, and evaluation with technical quality.
  • Lead technical tasks, proposals, and projects as appropriate; present findings to sponsors.
