The Division of Politics, Administration, and Justice at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Political Science Part‑Time Lecturer Pool. We are seeking intelligent, highly motivated, well‑organized part‑time lecturers to teach face‑to‑face upper‑division and graduate courses in comparative politics or international law.
This pool provides short‑term appointments that are often made just prior to the start of an academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.
All part‑time faculty are appointed as Lecturers under the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the California Faculty Association. Initial appointments are for one semester only.
Classification Range: $5,507 – $6,677 per month. Anticipated hiring range depends on qualifications, not to exceed $6,221 per month. Compensation is prorated to units worked and paid in six monthly payments for each full semester (e.g., a three‑unit assignment typically yields $6,608.40 – $7,465.20 per semester).
Regular performance evaluations of part‑time lecturers are made by the department in accord with the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070. These evaluations determine which lecturers will be retained for future teaching assignments and may include review of syllabi, assignments, and reading materials by the departmental personnel committee.
The holder of this position is considered a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse And Neglect Reporting Act and must comply with CSU Executive Order 1083. Appointment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check; ongoing employment requires successful completion of periodic background screenings as per CSU policy.
