Job summary

WALCO Tool & Engineering in Illinois seeks a polisher/deburrer to join our team. You will polish stainless steel weldments, blend welds, and establish grain direction using handheld power tools, files, and abrasives.

You will also smooth edges on parts, grind and sand to fix defects, and read blueprints to shape surfaces precisely. The role requires lifting up to 40 lbs and a strong, detail-focused work ethic. Shift options include early morning hours with overtime opportunities.

What You'll Do

• Polish stainless steel weldments to blend welds and establish grain direction utilizing handheld power tools, files and abrasive products
• Smooth and finish sharp machined edges on parts made from stainless steel, common steel, aluminum and plastics
• Grind, sand, clean or polish parts to fix imperfections
• Use hand and power tools to file and shape grooved or contoured surfaces so they match blueprints specifications
• Stamping part numbers on parts
• Packaging parts to prevent damage in shipment
• Assemble machined components to customer's specifications

What We're Looking For

• Hands on experience working with your hands in finesse work such as auto body, carpentry, metal polishing, deburring, etc.
• High sense of urgency and ability to multi-task
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn quickly
• Strong work ethic and highly motivated
• Ability to follow written instructions
• Capability to read blueprints
• Ability to physically lift/push/pull objects up to 40 lbs.

Compensation And Schedule

• $21-25 per hour, based on experience with opportunities for overtime
• Monday through Friday 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM or 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
