Job summary

WALCO Tool & Engineering in Illinois seeks a polisher/deburrer to join our team. You will polish stainless steel weldments, blend welds, and establish grain direction using handheld power tools, files, and abrasives.

You will also smooth edges on parts, grind and sand to fix defects, and read blueprints to shape surfaces precisely. The role requires lifting up to 40 lbs and a strong, detail-focused work ethic. Shift options include early morning hours with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Hands on experience in finesse work such as metal polishing or deburring.
• Ability to read blueprints and follow written instructions.
• Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs. and standing for extended periods.
• Strong work ethic, urgency, and multi-tasking ability.
• Attention to detail and pride in quality craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Polish stainless steel weldments and blend welds to establish grain direction.
• Smooth and finish edges on parts made from stainless steel, steel, aluminum and plastics.
• Grind, sand, and polish parts to fix imperfections.
• Use hand and power tools to shape surfaces to blueprint specs.
• Stamp part numbers and package parts to prevent damage in shipment.
• Assemble machined components to customer specifications.
