Job summary

A leading company is looking for a passionate Mid-Level Guidewire PolicyCenter Developer to join their Agile team and shape the future of insurance. Qualifications

Mid-Level Guidewire PolicyCenter Developer

Are you a passionate Mid-Level Guidewire PolicyCenter Developer ready to shape the future of insurance? We're building a premier, multi-line, multi-state unified insurance platform on Guidewire Cloud, and we need your expertise to drive our digital transformation. If you thrive on delivering industry-leading solutions and have a strong technical background, we want to hear from you!

This is a remote position, but we require candidates to reside within commuting distance of Columbus, Ohio, to be eligible for full-time employment. Please note that travel expenses to Columbus will not be reimbursed.

What You'll Do:

As a key member of our Agile development team, you'll be instrumental in developing and enhancing our Guidewire PolicyCenter platform. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing core PolicyCenter components, including product models, rating engines, APIs, user interfaces, batch processes, and integrations.
  • Driving the implementation of enhancements, resolving configuration issues, and actively participating in sprint planning and demos.
  • Collaborating closely with business analysts, QA teams, and international consulting partners to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Writing clean, maintainable code that adheres to established standards, contributing to technical debt reduction, and participating in code reviews.
  • Supporting production Guidewire applications, which includes occasional on-call responsibilities.
Beyond the Essentials:

  • Troubleshoot and optimize application performance using tools like Splunk and DataDog (APM).
  • Research new cloud capabilities and perform system upgrades.

What You'll Bring:

We're looking for a motivated and skilled developer with:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience developing in GOSU for PolicyCenter configurations.
  • A Guidewire Cloud Associate Developer certification (or the willingness to obtain it), with an interest in pursuing higher-level certifications like Certified Specialist or Certified Ace.
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment practices, ideally within Guidewire Cloud.
  • Strong background in object-oriented programming, with hands-on experience in Java/J2EE, REST APIs, XML, SQL, or similar technologies.
  • Highly motivated with excellent communication, creative, and critical thinking skills.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Bonus points for working knowledge of the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance domain.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $35.00 - $48.00 Per Hour
