Job summary

Security Mutual Life Insurance is seeking a Policy Service Associate to deliver quality customer service to individual clients while ensuring regulatory compliance. The role offers potential for primarily remote work with periodic office visits in Houston, TX or Binghamton, NY.

Responsibilities include processing policy surrenders, changes, and 1035 exchanges, handling beneficiary updates, and providing timely information to policyowners.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years experience in Customer Care/Support.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• 1–2 years experience in an insurance industry or accounting environment preferred.
• Industry recognized certifications preferred.
• Familiarity with Security Mutual products and procedures preferred.
• Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and manage a heavy workload.
• Ability to adapt to change and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Process policy surrenders, cancellations, 1035 exchanges, and qualified rollovers with accuracy.
• Handle beneficiary changes, policy assignments, and related notifications.
• Process contract changes, reinstatements, and reprojections with technical knowledge.
• Provide internal/external customer service, including mailings and form processing.
• Review policy status and documents; monitor daily/monthly reports for accuracy.
• Support legal and billing teams with information requests and releases.
