Job summary

George Mason University’s Enterprise Risk Management department seeks a Policy and Risk Specialist to coordinate policy development, review, and maintenance while supporting risk mitigation at the enterprise level.

You will manage the lifecycle of institutional policies, guide owners, maintain the policy repository, and help keep policy communications and website content up to date. The role emphasizes collaboration and data analysis to strengthen resilience and ensure compliant operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years in policy development, risk, or governance roles.
• Experience coordinating complex processes with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience preparing reports for leadership or governance bodies.
• Knowledge of policy development processes and governance structures.

Responsibilities

• Policy development, management, and governance support across the university.
• Coordinate lifecycle of institutional policies from drafting to publishing.
• Prepare materials for ERM meetings and support governance activities.
• Maintain policy repository and ensure version control and clarity.
• Support data management, reporting, and training related to policy and ERM.
