SmartRecruiters, Inc. is launching a Policy & Research Fellow position in the Office of the Treasurer & Tax Collector in San Francisco. The fellow conducts research, analyzes legislation, develops media briefings, and drafts communications to support low-income residents.

The role is part-time (up to 20 hours per week) with a temporary exempt appointment through June 2027 and potential extension pending funding.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Baccalaureate degree in policy, public/business administration, accounting, finance, economics, social sciences, education or related fields.
• Graduate degree in policy, public or business administration, accounting, finance, economics, social sciences, education or related fields is preferred.
• At least 1 year (2–3 preferred) of professional-level management or administrative/research experience.

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze topics related to youth financial inclusion and asset building for EJC initiatives.
• Track legislation at local/state/federal levels and prepare media briefings and letters of support.
• Assist with program administration, organize research library, and draft communications materials.
