J. Morrissey & Company is seeking a motivated professional to support legislative research, policy tracking, and client communications in Connecticut. This role combines research, writing, marketing, and event planning.

A bachelor’s degree is required, with reliable transportation and an interest in state politics. Marketing experience is a plus, and the position offers on-site work with opportunities to attend hearings in the capitol.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Public Policy, or a related field.
• Excellent writing, research, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Internship or early-career experience in government, politics, legislation, lobbying, or public affairs strongly preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsabilités

• Monitor legislation, committee meetings, public hearings, and government activity.
• Research policy issues and summarize findings for clients and senior staff.
• Draft policy briefs, legislative updates, press releases, and other written communications.
• Support lobbying initiatives, client communications, marketing materials, website updates, and events.
• Attend legislative meetings and events as needed.
