Job summary

The Connecticut General Assembly Office of Legislative Research is seeking a full-time Legislative Analyst II in Hartford. You will staff committees, analyze bills and public acts, and draft policy research reports for legislators and staff.

Strong writing, research, and analytical skills are essential, with a commitment to nonpartisanship and attention to detail. Overtime may be required during legislative sessions.

Qualifications

  • BA required; advanced degree strongly preferred in public policy or related field.
  • Public policy research experience and knowledge of state government and the legislative process are helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Staff legislative committees and analyze bills and public acts.
  • Draft policy research reports and respond to legislators and caucus staff with written and verbal answers.
