Job summary

The States Forum (TSF) is seeking a Policy Manager to support policy product development and manage the fellows program. This remote, full-time role involves coordinating research, editing, and outreach to state lawmakers and partners, with occasional travel for team meetings and events.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Policy, you will translate complex policy concepts into practical tools, maintain project timelines, and ensure contributors stay aligned with TSF’s calendar and standards.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of policy research, analysis, or development experience.
• Excellent writing and editing skills with ability to translate policy into actionable materials.
• Knowledge of state policy processes is a plus.
• Strong time management and ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.
• Clear, collaborative communication.

Responsibilities

• Research, draft, and edit policy products that turn complex concepts into usable tools for lawmakers.
• Manage day-to-day operations of the fellows program and track progress.
• Lead the idea briefs process including review and quality control.
• Onboard and support fellows and contributors.
• Summarize briefs for content and distribution teams.
• Collaborate on dissemination of ideas through Substack and events.
• Monitor state policy developments and trends.
