Job summary

Blue Cross Blue Shield Association in Washington, DC seeks a senior policy leader to shape strategies influencing legislation, regulations, and key stakeholders. You will manage regulatory and legislative projects, prepare comments, and advance BCBS A positions in Hill and Administration discussions.

You will build relationships with policymakers and third-party groups, translating policy issues into actionable strategies and communicating impact to Plans.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience in health care policy and analysis, focused on managed care/health insurance.
• Extensive knowledge of federally regulated legislative and regulatory processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with ability to influence policy.

Responsibilities

• Oversee regulatory and legislative projects, including policy analysis and comments.
• Represent BCBSA in meetings with policymakers and influential organizations.
• Identify and evaluate key business and policy issues; ensure alignment with Plans' priorities.
• Develop and maintain relationships with policymakers and third-party stakeholders; serve as liaison with regulatory representatives.
• Provide policy input and support to internal and external stakeholders on initiatives.
• Formulate and communicate strategies on an issue-by-issue basis to achieve consensus.
