Job summary

Anthropic Limited is seeking a Data Scientist focused on policy work. You will translate product usage and survey data into clear evidence for the Policy team to inform positions, demonstrate Anthropic’s relevance to policymakers, and measure impact.

Your analyses will inform how legislators and regulators understand Anthropic's footprint and contribution, in a highly cross-functional role foundational to our mission of safe and beneficial AI.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data analysis tools with experience using external/public data sources.
• Experience producing analyses for external audiences (policy, communications, IR, public affairs, or research).
• Applied causal inference using quasi-experimental designs to measure policy or program impact from observational data.
• Ability to translate complex analyses into clear, actionable recommendations for audiences with varying technical fluency.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product and business teams to produce analyses and data collateral for policy position papers and conversations.
• Identify metrics that faithfully represent the company to legislators, regulators, and the public.
• Own dashboards and pipelines to keep externally-shared numbers consistent for rapid policy work.
• Use AI tools to aggregate news and policy data to track trends and inform regulatory landscapes.
• Develop measurement frameworks for policy communications, paid media, and public-affairs campaigns.
• Design analyses to support internal policy development or measure policy impact for external audiences.
