Job summary

The Office of Performance Management and Data Analytics (OPMDA) at HRA/Department of Social Services in New York City seeks City Research Scientist-II to function as a Project Manager, leading policy and data analyses to inform DHS/HRA operations.

You will oversee a portfolio of reports, transform administrative data into indicators for program decisions, and partner with program areas to tailor analytics to evolving needs.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in physical, biological, environmental or social science or public health.
• Doctorate plus supervisory or research experience, or Master’s with substantial research experience; two years substitution allowed.
• Two years as City Research Scientist I can substitute for experience in 1 or 2 above.

Responsibilities

• Lead policy and data research projects related to DHS performance and budgets.
• Communicate with DHS and HRA program areas and develop new reports and analytics products.
• Determine planning analyses to support agency initiatives and provide policy alternatives.
• Prepare written reports and present findings to agency representatives and other stakeholders.
• Lead special projects as needed.
