Job summary

CGC, a nonprofit investment firm focused on clean energy and infrastructure, seeks a Communications & Policy Associate to support internal and external policy, communications, and strategic initiatives.

Reporting to the Chief of Staff & Head of External Affairs, you will coordinate high-priority projects, translate policy and market issues into clear materials, and help CGC engage with policymakers, partners, and the media.

Responsibilities

• Internal Communications & Organizational Coordination: Monitor and coordinate internal communications from leadership and staff updates; draft and edit announcements, talking points, presentations, briefing materials, newsletters, and other internal communications documents; plan and execute organization-wide events including CGC's annual meeting; coordinate cross-functional projects with timelines and deliverables; prepare meeting agendas, materials, notes, and action-item trackers; collaborate with Executive Office Assistants; develop templates and tools to strengthen information flow; handle confidential information with discretion; create and maintain internal communication systems.
• External Affairs: Monitor federal and state legislative, regulatory, policy, and market developments; conduct research and prepare concise policy memos, briefing materials, talking points, background materials, and analyses for senior leadership; translate policy and regulatory developments into clear implications for CGC; track emerging policy issues and identify opportunities or risks; support meetings with policymakers, government officials, industry organizations, partners, and other stakeholders.
• External Communications & Digital Content: Draft and edit external communications including website content, newsletters, announcements, press materials, talking points, presentations; translate policy, project finance, investment, and market-development topics into clear content for a diverse audience; highlight CGC investments, partnerships, milestones, insights, events, and impact; manage routine website updates and collaborate with IT on functionality; work with the Digital Associate on social media strategy and content calendar; monitor media landscape and provide weekly coverage insights; support external events and maintain consistent brand voice; track metrics to improve reach and engagement; coordinate with external communications, government affairs, design, and vendors.
