A Police Transport Maintenance Assistant provides general fleet management support to the Police Transport Maintenance Coordinator, and RCMP staff and external clients related to RCMP vehicles.
Duties - Union
• Conducts regular physical checks of vehicles to assess tire wear, damage, and repair requirements; prioritizes external repair work.
• Completes minor repairs, routine maintenance and adjustments to vehicles.
• Maintains various records for vehicles and related equipment.
• Assists with correspondence with RCMP Fleet Management and various external agencies.
• Updates and maintains spreadsheets and correspondence using various computer programs and RCMP forms in accordance with RCMP policy.
• Schedules mechanical inspections and repairs.
• Assists with ordering, delivery and commissioning & decommissioning vehicles.
• Assists with purchasing and delivering items.
