Job summary

Petaluma Police Department is seeking a Police Training Coordinator to lead the department's training program for all staff. You will ensure alignment with POST requirements and oversee scheduling, budgeting, and record-keeping for comprehensive training delivery.

The role involves coordinating online training and liaising with academies and facilitators to maintain certification standards and employee development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in public administration, management, human resources, or a related field.
• Two years of progressively responsible experience in instruction design, training methodology, and adult instructional and learning principles and theories.
• Certification in POST Training Coordination or ability to attain after hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement the Petaluma Police Department Training Program for all sworn and non-sworn staff.
• Ensure staff complies with POST Continued Professional Training requirements and department training standards.
• Oversee annual training budget and forecast expenditures.
• Schedule training events, travel, and conferences; track hours and expenses.
• Develop training plans, audits, and maintain records; monitor POST certifications and education.
• Coordinate online training via Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
