The Police Technician is a non-sworn civilian position that serves at the discretion of the Chief of Police for an unspecified length of time.
The Police Technician is responsible for contacting, interviewing, and the completion of reports from victims/witnesses of incidents which are not in-progress. This may include responding to the scene of prior incidents, taking telephone reports, or reviewing /completing internet- reported reports.
The Police Technician also performs a variety of administrative clerical duties in support of law enforcement activities that are confidential in nature. This is a civilian non-commissioned position assigned to handle duties that do not require a sworn commissioned member to perform.
Works under the direct supervision of the on-duty supervisor, and the general supervision of the Support Services Division commander.
