City of Billings is seeking a capable clerical professional to support the Police Department by initiating, processing, and maintaining documents, correspondence and statistics. You will provide information to officers and the public and maintain critical records in law enforcement networks.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, two years of related experience, and the ability to pass background checks and obtain NCIC certification within six months.
Salary Range: $20.3914 - $22.4894/hour. Salary reflects Step 1 and Step 3 of a 7-step pay scale. Salary at hiring will be dependent upon the applicant's education, experience, and training.
Responsible for performing a wide variety of specialized clerical duties in support of the Police Department including initiating, processing, and maintaining documents, correspondence and statistics; and providing information and assistance to officers and the public.
Incumbents follow prescribed procedures in handling, classifying, filing or indexing data. Working with readily available supervision, incumbents perform work according to clearly defined principles. Incumbents may provide work direction to temporary office staff.
Requires significant physical effort, moving between 25 and 60 pounds, on an intermittent basis (less than 15% of the time). Requires high attention to detail or deadlines on a frequent basis (between 45% and 70% of the time). Work requires exposure to multiple unfavorable elements, none of which are of greater than moderate intensity, on an intermittent basis (less than 15% of the time).
