Job summary

University Health is seeking a capable Police Supervisor for its Protective Services department. The role leads shift operations and enforces general and criminal regulations to safeguard patients, visitors, staff, physicians and property.

Applicants should have 3+ years as a police officer, with hospital security experience preferred; Texas Peace Officer license and TCOLE certification are required, with higher certifications valued.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice or related field.
• 3 years police officer experience in lieu of college.
• Successful completion of the Texas Peace Officer’s Training course approved by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) is required.
• Basic certification by TCOLE is required.
• Mental Health Officer and Intermediate Peace Officer certification or higher is preferred.
• Three years experience as a police officer, including military and/or federal law enforcement, experience is required.
• Police Officer experience in a hospital or ambulatory care service is preferred.
• Candidates must have completed or be able to complete within 180 days of being assigned to this position TCOLE Course 3737 (New Supervisor – First Line).

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Associates or Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice or related field from an accredited college, or 3 of years police officer experience in lieu of college,. Successful completion of the Texas Peace Officer’s Training course approved by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) is required. Basic certification by TCOLE is required.
