Job summary

Clermont Police Department offers selected applicants full sponsorship for the Basic Law Enforcement Academy, including tuition, books, and fees not covered by the GI Bill, while employed as a CPD Recruit at 40 hours per week.

Upon FDLE certification, the selected applicant will be appointed Police Officer with pay and benefits commensurate with the classification. The role is non-exempt and follows FLSA overtime provisions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be at least 19 years old.
• No felony convictions or misdemeanors involving perjury or false statement.
• Must have a valid Florida Driver's License.
• Medically cleared to participate in CPD physical abilities test.
• Pass CPD background process including polygraph and psychological examination.

Responsibilities

• Participates and completes the Florida Law Enforcement Certification.
• Participate and completes Minimum Standards Course set forth by the Florida Police Standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
