An established industry player seeks a Police Records Supervisor to lead the police records and support services division. To plan, organize, supervise, and participate in the functions of the police records and support services division, performing a variety of technical tasks related to the assigned area of responsibility.
Any combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. Typically, this includes:
Possession of a valid California Driver's license.
Knowledge of: Laws and regulations governing police records; records management practices; supervision and performance evaluation principles; budget monitoring; relevant laws, ordinances, and rules; computer applications related to the assignment; and English language usage.
Skills and Abilities: Train, motivate, and evaluate staff; work efficiently in a high workload environment; maintain records and prepare reports; make sound judgments; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; establish effective working relationships; and work tactfully with diverse groups.
Work involves sitting at a desk for extended periods, walking, standing, bending, squatting, twisting, reaching, grasping, and fine manipulation. Use of telephone and computer is required. The work environment is indoors with occasional outdoor movement, exposure to external environments when visiting off-site locations, and frequent interruptions for inquiries.
Applicants must submit a City application by the deadline. The selection process includes multiple steps, and a valid score is required for eligibility.
