Overview

• The practice provides litigation, counseling, and transactional representation to cities, counties, regional governments, special districts, school districts, and joint powers authorities.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting and responding to discovery and initial pleadings, drafting and arguing motions, and taking and defending depositions.
• Requires at least two years of experience preparing and responding to written discovery, conducting meet-and-confer sessions, preparing related motions, and taking/defending witness depositions, with a preference for experience defending public entities, including law enforcement agencies and their officers, in state and federal courts and administrative proceedings.
• Trial experience is a bonus but not a requirement for this role.
• The firm is interested in candidates with substantive civil litigation experience and a demonstrated interest in public agency and municipal law, in addition to those with direct public agency experience.
• This role is designated as hybrid.
• Candidates must possess strong writing and analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, and the capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
