• The Public Agency & Municipal Law Practice provides a range of litigation, counseling, and transactional representation to cities, counties, regional governments, special districts, school districts, and joint powers authorities, handling municipal law matters for public entities from California to the East Coast, with several lawyers serving as General Counsel, Assistant General Counsel, or Special Counsel for municipal bodies.
• The role requires comfort drafting and responding to discovery and initial pleadings, drafting and arguing motions, and taking and defending depositions, preferably with experience defending public entities, including law enforcement agencies and their officers, in state and federal courts and administrative proceedings.
• Trial experience is considered a bonus but is not a requirement.
• The firm is also interested in attorneys with substantive civil litigation experience and a demonstrated interest in public agency and municipal law, even without direct prior public agency experience.
