The City of Pittsburgh is seeking Police Property & Evidence Technicians to support the Bureau of Police by managing property and evidence receipt, storage, and safekeeping. Police Property & Evidence Technicians play a vital role in supporting law enforcement operations by ensuring the safe, secure, and accurate management of property and evidence. Property & Evidence Technician is a non-sworn position that will be responsible for assisting PBP officers in managing the receipt, storage, and safekeeping of property and evidence collected. They maintain accurate records, ensure the integrity of the chain of custody, and dispose of property according to legal and departmental procedures. Technicians will work in a support role, ensuring PBP policies are adhered to under the rules of criminal procedure of Pennsylvania. Individuals assigned to this task are expected to perform the full range of duties as assigned, working independently, applying program knowledge, and exercising judgment and initiative while having contact with the public.

Salary: $56,760per year
Union: This position is included in the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees, Local 2719 bargaining unit and will be filled in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
