Qualifications

• Current POST license or eligible to be licensed by March 31st 2027, or for out of state candidates, meets out of state or military reciprocity requirements.
• Valid MN driver’s license (or ability to obtain within 60 days).
• Ability to carry firearm in Minnesota.

Responsibilities

• Preserve law and order, protect life and property in the City of St. Louis Park.
• Enforce city ordinances and state and federal laws impartially.
• Participate in community policing and problem-solving using the SARA model.
• Respond to distress or emergency calls and provide first aid.
• Assist in training and mentoring new officers and staff.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field
