Job summary

Huntington Park Police Department is seeking an entry-level Police Officer Trainee who will attend a POST-certified police academy to develop knowledge and skills to become a Police Officer for the City of Huntington Park.

Upon successful completion of training, trainees are eligible for appointment to a sworn Police Officer position. Failure to complete training can result in automatic termination; uniforms are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or attainment of GED or CHSPE.
• Graduation from a POST approved California Law Enforcement Training Academy.
• Must be 21 years of age at time of hire (sworn positions only).

Responsibilities

• Attend a POST-certified police academy to train to become a Police Officer with the City of Huntington Park.
• Upon completion, be eligible for consideration for appointment to a sworn Police Officer position.
• If training is not completed, termination from employment may occur.
• Perform duties in a safe and efficient manner.
• Assist with related duties as required.
