The Montgomery Police Department is seeking entry-level Police Officers who will begin as Police Officer Trainees, advancing to sworn Officers after graduation from the Academy and a 12-month probation period.

Qualified applicants must be 19 years or older, hold a high school diploma or GED, have a valid driver’s license, and meet APST requirements; shifts may include weekends and holidays during preparation and probation.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED as approved by the Alabama Department of Education.
• Must be at least 19 years old and eligible for APST certification.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and ability to obtain Alabama driver's license prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Protect citizens through daily patrol, traffic control, investigations, and incident response.
• Document events and procedures in writing and present information in court when required.
• Serve under supervision and transition from Police Officer Trainee to Police Officer after Academy graduation and probation.
