WakeMed is seeking a Police Officer Trainee to ensure public safety and provide security services at our facility. The ideal candidate will perform tasks such as patrolling, maintaining visitor control, and will undergo necessary law enforcement training. This role is essential in creating a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Police Officer Trainee will perform all functions of public safety and provide security for patients, visitors, staff, and property by patrolling assigned areas, maintaining visitor control, and investigating irregularities. They will provide information and assistance to patients, visitors, and staff. The role involves learning skills necessary to become a hospital police officer, attending and completing North Carolina Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) within one year of hire, and passing the state certification exam. The Campus Police & Public Safety department aims to promote a safe and secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors.

High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Associate's Degree in Police Science or a related field preferred.
3 months security experience preferred. Certified by NC Training and Standards Commission or Basic Law Enforcement Training preferred.
