Job summary

Town of Longboat Key is hiring an Experienced Full-Time Police Officer. Successful candidates will undergo a pre-employment physical, drug test, polygraph, thorough background check, and psychological evaluation.

Annual compensation starts at $78,430.14 with shift differential and holiday pay; additional allowances and incentives are listed. Take-home vehicle program and relocation/education incentives are offered, along with comprehensive health coverage.

Qualifications

• Florida Certificate of Completion from the State of Florida Commission on Criminal Justice Standards & Training.
• Three years' experience as a sworn law enforcement officer.
• Valid Florida driver's license (MVR background check).

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned area, enforce laws, and monitor vehicles and pedestrians.
• Investigate crimes, collect evidence, and pursue suspects.
• Serve subpoenas and warrants, escort persons, and testify in court.
• Direct traffic and provide location information for streets and buildings.
• Investigate public places for compliance with laws and gather information from sources.
