We are hiring motivated individuals who are looking to start a career as a police officer with our department. Once hired with our police department, and while a cadet in the Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) Academy, you will receive a full-time salary and Town employee benefits. We’ve increased our starting salary again! Starting salary is $53,000 and after successfully completing a one-year probationary period from the sworn date, officers receive a 7.5% salary increase. Additionally, starting salary increases with the following incentives upon certification:
Guardians of the Hill enjoy permanent, fixed shifts beginning with the patrol division with opportunities to serve in investigations, K-9-unit, traffic, community services, as School Resource Officers, and on?the?Special Emergency Response Team.
With newly created rotational positions, patrol officers gain diverse experience sooner in their careers.

This classification has been designated as Safety Sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
